The George Wyllie Foundation

The George Wyllie Foundation is an independent, non-profit making charity. It was founded in 2012, following the death of the artist.

A generous gift has made it possible for the George Wyllie Foundation to acquire key works from across George’s career, the Foundation aims to show these works through exhibitions and loans.

The aims of the Foundation are to:
• preserve and conserve the George Wyllie Collection
• to promote the work of George Wyllie

The George Wyllie Foundation therefore actively promotes Wyllie’s work through exhibitions and education.

The George Wyllie Estate is managed by the Wyllie family who maintains ownership of the artistic estates of George Wyllie. The Estate is the owner of the Wyllie family collection of works by George Wyllie, of all archives and of all intellectual property relating to the collection and archives.

The Wyllie family has generously opened George’s personal archive to enable a deeper investigation of this seminal 20th-century artist and his continuing influence.

The George Wyllie Estate and George Wyllie Foundation work in partnership to protect and promote the work of George Wyllie. It is a central tenet of the Wyllie art-for-all approach that public projects continue to involve and inspire people of all ages.
